Obituary

Lynn Powell Burgess, age 63, of Spindale, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her residence.

     Lynn was born Wednesday, April 15, 1959 in Cleveland County to the late Warren Powell and Ann Duncan Powell. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1977. Lynn worked as a teller for BB&T for many years. She was an active member of Wilson Baptist Church. Most of all she loved her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

    Those left to cherish fond memories include her husband of forty-one years, Danny Burgess; son, Justin Burgess (Anna) of Ellenboro; daughter, Megan Parris of Spindale; a sister, Julie Bumgarner (Danny) of Sandy Mush and brother-in-law, Randy Burgess (Sandy) of Forest City; sister-in-law, Laverne Frietze (Bill) of Washington D.C. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jackson Burgess, Logan Parris, Kate Burgess and a number of nieces and nephews.

     The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Wilson Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Bostic, Reverend Danny Bumgarner and Reverend Curtis McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 15th at Wilson Baptist Church.
