Albert G. Waldrop

Albert G. Waldrop, age 75, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Upstate Community Hospice House in Spartanburg.

Albert was born Wednesday, February 5, 1947 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Paul Lee Waldrop and Margaret Brown Waldrop. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Albert worked for Dow Corning Chemical Company as an engineer for many years before retirement. He enjoyed craftwork which included woodworking, handmade pottery and gemstone cutting. Albert loved nature and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Ralph Waldrop and a son-in-law, James Rigby.

Left to cherish fond memories are his daughters, Kathy Greer (Steve) of Inman, SC, Sheila Hughes of Gaffney, SC and Tina Rigby of Ellenboro; a sister, Darlene Hill (Jerry) of Boiling Springs, SC; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Albert’s life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Hope Point Church, 1185 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
