Annie Womick

Annie Pearl Womick, age 90, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Oakland Living Center. Mrs. Womick was born December 4, 1916 to the late Zur Elmore and Pearl Jenkins Elmore. She was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church on Ferry Road. She had been a longtime sales clerk at Roses Department Store originally beginning with the company when the store was located downtown. Mrs. Womick was an avid reader and was an Atlanta Braves fan. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Womick in 1977 after 28 years of marriage.

Mrs. Womick is survived by her three sons, Ronnie Womick and his wife Bonnie of Rutherfordton, NC, Terry Womick and his wife Debbie of Forest City, NC, and Johnny Womick of Forest City; by her two grand-daughters, Morgan Womick, and Staci Womick. She is also survived by a brother, Frank Elmore of Bostic, NC, and a sister Ruth Kirby of Cliffside, NC.
