Barbara "Granny B" Spencer

Barbara “Granny B” Spencer, age 77, of Harris, NC passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Barbara was born Saturday, August 12, 1944 in Silver Spring, Maryland to the late Edwin Anderson and Naomi Anderson Oursler. She worked for J.H. Montgomery Industries for over thirty-five years and was of the Episcopalian Faith. Barbara loved animals and enjoyed needlepoint. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Spencer; her stepfather, Charles Oursler, Sr. and a sister, Katherine Oursler.

Left to cherish fond memories are her sons, Gary Tharp of Harris, Shawn Spencer (Martina) of Forest City and Shannon Spencer (Kathy) of Gilkey; four brothers, Jerry Anderson of Good Thunder, MN, Larry Anderson of Good Thunder, MN, Danny Anderson of Mason City, Iowa, Charles Oursler of Chesnee, SC and sisters, Bonnie “Beaners” Linton and Betty Cramer both of Cloverly, Maryland. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Austin and Hunter Spencer.

A celebration of life will be conducted on a later date.
