Beatrice Goode Morrison, age 88, of Fair Haven Bostic, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, December 11, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Beatrice was born March 23, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Russell Goode and Blanche Beachboard Goode. She worked over 35 years for Cone Mills at the Cliffside and Haynes Plants. Beatrice was a faithful member of Race Path Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir. When she was younger, she and her sister, Muriel, sang in a gospel trio with various other people. Beatrice was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and homemaker who loved her family dearly. She was a wonderful cook, and she was immediately present for caregiving whenever there was illness in her family.
On Wednesday evening, December 9, Beatrice and her daughter, Deborah, had a glorious homegoing celebration in the Hospice room. For about one hour, Bea listened to Deborah sing the old gospel songs and hymns of Bea's youth. They also listened to Vestal Goodman, and other Gaither singers on YouTube. God inhabits the praises of His people, and Bea experienced about one hour of alertness as she praised God. She smiled and worshipped, and great life was reflected in her countenance. Later, she expressed love for her husband Willie, her daughter, and her beloved grand dog, Petey. Finally, she told Deborah and her nurses that she could see Jesus in the room.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Grady Goode, Sr., Ernest Goode, Carl Goode, and Joseph W. Goode; two sisters, Muriel Goode Cooper and Commie Goode Ballard.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-seven years, Willie Morrison, of Fair Haven Bostic; daughter, Deborah Morrison Burgin of Forest City, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will take place at Race Path Baptist Church Cemetery.
