Bo Lowery, age 80, of Forest City, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home.
Bo was born Thursday, March 6, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late Bert Lowery and Mary Kennedy Lowery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a supervisor for Burlington Industries for thirty-eight years and was a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church. Bo’s passion was working on and restoring old cars. He also enjoyed working outdoors and driving his tractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Honey Lowery and a sister, Patsy Thomas.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Bette Jo Lowery; daughter, Shelly Hines and husband, Jimmy of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; sisters, Carolyn Hall (Joe) of Forest City and Mary Helen Lowery of Rutherfordton; brother, Don Lowery of Forest City. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Morgan Roseboro (Preston) of Greensboro, NC; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Zola Roseboro and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Rutherford County Memorial Service with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Bo’s body will lie in state from 1:00 until 6:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
