Boyd Arrowood, age 78, of Union Mills, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his residence.
Boyd was born December 10, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late Clarence Arrowood and Vearl Parton Arrowood. He was the co-owner and operator of B & J Satellite for thirty-five years and also operated Boyd’s Bulldozing and Grading for fifteen years. Boyd was a faithful member of the Little White Country Church where he served as the chairman of the cemetery committee and as an elder. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, travelling and photography. Boyd loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Mull, Lula Freeman and a brother, Floyd Arrowood.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Joanne Arrowood; two daughters, Roxanne Barnhill of Belmont, NC and Kim Thomas (Dave) of Harrisonburg, Virginia; two sons, John Stevens of Union Mills and Kevin Tuttle (Kathy) of Forest City; brother, Kermit Arrowood of Union Mills; sister, Lois Jones (Raymond) of Shingle Hollow; brother-in-law, Don Freeman of Union Mills; sister-in-law, Kathleen Arrowood of Forest City; four grandchildren, Brett Grindstaff, Nathan Stevens, Skyler Bradley (Angela), Sarah Sanchez (Joe) and two great-grandchildren, Lexi Grindstaff and Gage Bradley.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Little White Country Church with Reverend Donald Dover, Reverend Scotty Poole and Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. The family requests that all attendees wear masks.
