Brenda Lee Foshee

August 19, 1950 — March 25, 2024

Marion, NC

Brenda Lee Underhill Foshee of Marion NC went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday, March 25, 2024, with her loving husband by her side. Brenda was a devoted family woman who cherished her loved ones and kept them close to her throughout her life.

Brenda was born on August 19, 1950, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Maxine Sinard Underhill and the late Gayward McKinley Underhill. Brenda was able to travel the world living for a time in Spain as well as along the Eastern Coast of the United States. One of her favorite jobs was at Westinghouse, where she was able to learn and contribute to an appreciative team while raising her young sons as a newly single mother.

Dogs came from far and wide to have their opportunity to spend time with Brenda, the great “dog whisperer,” whether that was following her home, jumping in her car or greeting her while she was out and about. Dogs knew they had a safe haven with Brenda, and she came to share residence with more than 30 of them over the years. The family finds great comfort knowing that they are all waiting for her on the other side of Rainbow Bridge.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Edward Foshee of the home; her sons, David Cotton and his wife Josephine of Shelby; Phillip Cotton of the home; her mother, Maxine Louise Underhill, of the home, her dear grandchildren Brennan and William Cotton; Parker and Jessyca Cotton; her sister Tracy Underhill; several great grandchildren; cherished cousins and extended family.

Brenda was predeceased by her brother Steven Underhill.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life in accordance with Brenda’s wishes.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Carolina Foothills Hospice and their caring staff who took such great care of Brenda in her time of need.
