Bruce Byers

Bruce Byers, age 82, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

Bruce was born Monday, January 5, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Raleigh Byers and Etheleen Bradley Byers. He worked as an Upholstery Technician for General Fireproofing for twenty years before retirement. Bruce was a car enthusiast and enjoyed going to local car shows. He also enjoyed studying the history of and looking at old trains. Bruce translated his passion for cars and old trains by drawing detailed pictures of them. He was a member of West Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Wilkie and his brother, Gene Byers.

Left to treasure his memory are his sisters, Joyce McCurry of West Columbia, SC and Betty Byers of Forest City; a brother, Joe Byers of Bostic and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 8^th with Reverend Carroll Page officiating. Interment will follow at the Providence Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
