Carolyn Landis Waters

Carolyn Landis Waters, age 73, of Forest City, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Carolyn was born Saturday, February 21, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Curtis Landis and Pearl Ledbetter Landis. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1966 and worked for Parker Hannifin for twenty years as a buyer/planner. Carolyn was a longtime member of Alexander United Methodist Church where she served as the financial secretary and a member of the church choir. She was a dedicated homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Carolyn enjoyed reading, flower gardening and cooking for her family and special occasions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Milan Curtis Landis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-three years, Charles Rupert Waters; two daughters, Amy Gilbert of Hudson, NC and Melanie Gallo of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Patsy Hewitt of Forest City; three grandchildren, Ty Lewis, Lane Gilbert, Henry Gallo and several nieces.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend James Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
