Charles E. Davis, age 77, of Forest City, died Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Charles was born April 9, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Eldridge Zeno Davis and Mary Bernice Philbeck Davis. He was a graduate of Ellenboro High School, class of 1961. Charles owned and operated Charles Davis Electrical Services for many years and worked for Spindale Mills/Manual Woodworkers until retirement. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and enjoyed restoring cars, going to car shows, farming and the outdoors. Charles loved working with his hands and used his skill as the “fix about everything man” to be a blessing to many.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Mary Ellen Davis; daughter, Jennifer Lea Davis of Ellenboro; sister, Lynn Green (David) of Ellenboro; niece, Holly Green and grandniece, Maple Cookson.
A celebration of life outdoor service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2020 on the church grounds at Providence United Methodist Church with Reverend Cathy Turman and Reverend Nancy Tate officiating. A private interment will take place in the church cemetery. The family wishes to remind those who attend to honor social distancing guidelines.
