Charlie Cooper

Charlie M. Cooper, age 79, of 208 Holland Street, Forest City, NC, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 at the Hospice House in Forest City, NC. He was born March 30, 1929 in Rutherford County to the late Nicholas Lee Cooper and Flossie Buff Cooper.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bryson Cooper, Sr., Clyde Cooper, and Bill Cooper and a sister, Ruth Cooper. He was a long-time member of Alexander Baptist Church. He was a musician who enjoyed playing at his church and he also sang and played at several nursing homes. He was a master gardener.

Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Dobbins Cooper of the home, a son, Dennis Cooper of Forest City, NC; two daughters, Darlene Hooper and husband Stanley of Forest City and Glenda Edney and husband Rick of Bostic; eight grandchildren, Mitch Hooper, Mark Hooper, Jobe Hooper, Matt Hooper, Sam Hooper, Ryan Cooper, Robby Edney, and Kelly Edney; three great grandchildren, Josh Williams, Hannah Hooper, and Reese Cooper; and a special nephew, Bryson Cooper, Jr..
