Charlie Queen

Charlie Lee Queen, age 96, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Rutherford Hospital. Charlie was born July 31, 1910 in Rutherford County to the late Reuben M. Queen and Florence Hooper Queen. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County having retired from Stonecutter Mill as a supervisor. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army, during which he was a part of the invasion to liberate Europe at Normandy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Ethel Hawkins Queen in 2000. He is also preceded in death by his brother Roscoe Queen and a sister Eliza Tate.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
