Doris “Grammy” Caldwell, age 78, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at her residence.
Doris was born April 20, 1942 in Gaston County, to the late James William Campbell and Agnes Gertrude Nolan Campbell. Her passion in life was to take care of her family and she was known as “Grammy” by all who knew her. Doris loved each of her family members in a special way. She enjoyed making crafts and baking cookies for all to share.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Allen D. Caldwell; stepfather, Clyde Brooks; brother, David Benjamin Nolan and grandson, Robert Allen Shea.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her son Allen Dean Caldwell, Jr. (Amy) of Forest City; two daughters, Nancy Caldwell of Forest City and Cathy Kozlowski (Tom) of Mooresboro; stepdaughters, Rose Caldwell of Forest City and Rita Caldwell of Lincolnton; sisters, Nance Ruff and Donna Ruff (Bud) all of Rutherfordton and brother, Clyde Andrew Brooks (Betty) of Mooresboro. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
