Elsie Allred

Elsie M. Allred, age 100, of Caroleen, NC passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the White Oak Manor in Rutherfordton. She was born October 18, 1907 in McDowell County to the late John Allred and Martha Rumfelt Allred. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoyle Allred and Robert Allred and two sisters, Gladys Hardin and Ella Mae Holtsclaw. Elsie loved her family very much. She was a longtime member of the Caroleen Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher. She loved to sew and garden. She also loved to bake and was known for her wonderful pound cakes.

She is survived by two sisters, Ellen Harris and Inez Ramsey both of Caroleen, NC and a host of nieces and nephews ranging from great to great, great, great, nieces and nephews.
