Frances Edwards

Frances Crowe Edwards, age 81, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home following an extended illness. She was born April 13, 1926 to the late Thomas Mack Crowe and Lula Ricketts Crowe. She had spent most of her formative years in the Cliffside area. She was married on January 4, 1944 to Carl M. Edwards, Jr. he preceded her in death on October 22, 2002 after 58 years of marriage. She had worked as an Executive Secretary for over 49 years eventually retiring from AGI in 1992. She was a long time member of Floyds Creek Baptist Church but most recently was a member of First Baptist Church of Forest City. She had previously been very active in the American Cancer Society. She loved staying busy and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by her daughter Carla Ruff and husband Doug of Rutherfordton, NC and two granddaughters Carrie Fran Ruff and Kennedy Fayth Ruff; a sister Hazel Phillips of Elizabethtown, NC; and a brother, Judson "Bud" Crow of Lincolnton, NC.
