Frank "Eddie" Greene

Frank “Eddie” Greene, age 66, of Forest City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 21, 2023.

He was the son of the late Frank and Dovie Ledford Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sue Campbell.

     He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Melanie McBrayer Greene; daughters, Meleah G. Hilton (Jonathan) of Shelby and Chloe G. Dixon (Nathan) of Seneca, SC; granddaughter, Lenna Caroline Dixon; sisters, Annette Landis (Freddy) and Janice Vickers (Joey) all of Forest City; brothers-in-law, Don McBrayer (Sandy) of Mooresboro and Bobby Campbell of Ellenboro along with several nieces and nephews.

     He was an Army veteran having served in Germany. Eddie worked in textiles, plastic molding and roller bearing mfg. at AFA, Timken/Gaffney and Watts Regulator. He loved spending time with his loving family. His love for his wife was evident and he was most proud of his daughters and granddaughter. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and grew bountiful and delicious tomatoes. He was a member of the Element Church and enjoyed worshiping with online services and attending small group bible studies which were very meaningful to him.

    The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 27^th at 12:00 pm in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC with Reverend J.R. Blanton officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
