Hicks Street

Hicks Edward Street, age 81, of J E Morrow Street, Forest City, NC passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He was born October 23, 1926 in Rutherford County to the late George Younce Street and Carrie Dotson Street. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle L. Street, three brothers, Paul Street, Oscar Street, and George Street, and three sisters, Reba Holland, Inez Jolley, and Ella Mode. Mr. Street was a former employee of Fieldcrest & Alexander Mills with 45 years of service and he was also a chicken farmer. He was a volunteer fireman with the Sandy Mush Fire Department and a lifetime member of Alexander Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Street is survived by one son, Hugh Street and his wife Charlotte of Bostic, NC; one daughter, Sandra Piercy and her husband Kenneth of Belmont, NC; one sister, Dot Humphries of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren, Eddie Piercy and wife Heather of Dallas, NC and Kenny Piercy of Belmont, NC; and one great granddaughter, Rhebalee Piercy.
