James Shelton

"Pete" James Shelton, age 71, of 778 Rainbow Rapids Road, Rutherfordton, NC passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Hillcrest Rest Home in Forest City, NC.
He was born January 27, 1937 in Greene County, Tennessee to the late Hunter Theron Shelton and Emily Johnson Shelton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Shelton. Mr. Shelton owned and operated Shelton's Saw Mill & Logging.

He is survived by his wife, Nevada Shelton of Rutherfordton; four daughters, Judy Bolt of Columbus, NC, Janice Cash of Rutherfordton, Nancy Shelton of Rutherfordton, and Susan Shelton Radford of Rutherfordton; six sons, Johnny Shelton of Norwood, NC, Jimmy Shelton of Huntersville, NC, Jeffery Shelton of Shelby, NC, Joel Shelton of Columbus, NC, Robert Shelton of Saluda, NC and Thomas Shelton of Saluda, NC. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
