James Wood

James Lee Wood, age 70, of Harris, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Hospice House. James was born January 13, 1936 in Gaffney, SC, to the late Alfred Wood and Polly Cooper Wood. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County having retired as a Loom Fixer in the mills. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son James Lee Wood Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Dawn Wood; 1 Son, Ronnie Lee Wood of Cliffside; 6 Daughters, Mary Harris of Golden Valley, NC, Sarah Powers of Chesnee, SC, Debbie Melton of Henrietta, NC, Rhonda Lee of Rutherfordton, NC, Tera Wease of Cliffside, NC and Carla Bridges of Harris, NC; 1 Sister, Mary Helen Webb of Henrietta, NC and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who loved him dearly.
