James “Pinto” Stanley, age 92, of Cliffside, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his residence.
James was born Tuesday, May 13, 1930 in Greenville County, South Carolina to the late Hubert Stanley and Essie Blackwell Stanley. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. James worked for Cone Mill-Cliffside Plant for twenty-two years and later as cashier for Country Plaza in Cliffside. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed driving around the area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Jenkins Stanley; four brothers, Cecil, Dupree, Jack and Lamar Stanley; a sister, Mary Lamb and grandson, Stanley Webb.
Left to cherish fond memories are his daughter, Gail Webb (Terry) of Mooresboro, granddaughter, Jeanie Webb (Dean Ingle) of Forest City; great-grandchildren, Caleb Scoggins of Charlotte, NC and Jordan Adcox of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Honeycutt of Harris, NC.
A private graveside will be conducted for the family. Presentation of the U.S. Flag will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
