Jimmy Bridges, age 68, of Ellenboro, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Jimmy was born Sunday, September 26, 1954 in Rutherford County to the late Faye Hardin Hopper. In his younger years, he was a truck driver for Grindstaff’s Furniture and then owned and operated Done Right Upholstery and Bridges Appliance and Repair for many years. Most recently, he worked as a maintenance technician for Harmony Hills. Jimmy was a member of the Masonic Lodge #381 in Forest City and enjoyed taking trips to the beach. He was a musician who loved playing the guitar, listening to music, and was an avid Waylon Jennings fan. Jimmy was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Fred and Lovie Hardin; his first wife of thirty-seven years, Evon Bridges and stepfather, Joe Hopper.
Left to cherish fond memories are his wife of twelve years, Michele Bridges; sons, Josh Bridges (Kristy) of Harris and David Bridges (Teri) of Forest City; grandchildren, Kristin Wells (Joseph), Austin Bridges, Julia Stephens, Luke Stephens; great-grandson, Oliver Wells and a sister, Rhonda Bridges of Arkansas.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 31st at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Shane Adkins officiating with Masonic Rites being accorded by the Forest City Masonic Lodge #381. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
