Mary Wood

Mary Chapman Wood, age 89, of Forest City passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Hospice Residence of Rutherford County following an extended illness. Mary was born on July 23, 1917 in Forest City, NC to the late Edward Chapman and Adeline Johnson Chapman. She was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. She worked for over 25 years for Burlington Industries as a weaver. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henrietta. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Frank O. Wood in 1970; a son Jerry Wood; a daughter Wanda Murray; and sons in-law, Glen Murray, Tony Fox, and Bobby Cole.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Clara Cole of Forest City, and Brenda Fox of Forest City; a sister, Jackie Youells of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
