Meldora Thomas

Meldora Mills Thomas, age 90, of 2555 Camp Creek Road, Union Mills, NC formerly of Caroleen passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, NC.

She was a born in Cherokee County, SC on January 4, 1916 to the late Tom and Lula Massey Mills. Meldora was the widow of Lewis Thomas who died June 17, 2002 and was also preceded in death by three sons, George Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, and William Thomas and two grandchildren, Lisa Jo Thomas and David Michael Philbeck, Jr.
She was a retired employee of Cone Mills in Avondale and a member of the Fork Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by two sons, Clayton Thomas and his wife Irene of Gilkey, NC and Charles Thomas of Caroleen, NC; four daughters, Louene Lane and husband Junior of Union Mills, and Mildred Campbell and husband Thomas, Martha Wadsworth, and Linda Bailey and husband Bobby, all of Forest City. Also surviving are 24 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, and 18 Great-Great Grandchildren.
