Norma Miller Wiblin, age 85, of Rutherfordton, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Norma was born Friday, October 30, 1936 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Clyde Caldwell and Coy Baker Caldwell Kimbrell. She was a life-long resident of Rutherford County and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Her military career led her to a twenty-six-year service as the Chief of Accounting for the Department of Defense. She was a member of Penders Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Tarboro, NC and enjoyed going on cruises with her late husband. She was a fun-loving person, an avid Atlanta Braves fan and an animal lover. Norma had a heart of generosity toward all of those she knew. She was especially invested in supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, Sgt. First Class Clarence S. Wiblin; two brothers, Jerry and Judson Caldwell.

Left to cherish fond memories are her sister-in-law, Brenda Toney (Marvin) of Rutherfordton; two nephews, Brian Caldwell (Shawna) of Mt. Holly, NC and Colin Caldwell of Anniston, Alabama.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Ernie Cole officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
