Rebecca Bennett

Rebecca Jean Conner Bennett, age 75, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

Rebecca was born Tuesday, July 2, 1946 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Charles Conner and Martha Frady Conner. She loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.  Rebecca was an animal lover; she loved cats, flowers, plants, shopping and was a huge Elvis fan.

She had worked in textiles, also with the Rutherford County Schools as a bus driver for the Special Education Department, but her favorite job was when she got to stay home and take care of all her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Conner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty years, Wilbur Bennett, Sr.; daughter, Mary Goode (Larry); two sons; Wilbur Bennett, Jr., David Bennett (Stephanie); a brother, William Conner (Bonna); five grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Joshua Lathan officiating.  Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
