Ruth Pye, age 95, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020.
Ruth was born February 9, 1925 in Rutherford County to the late W.D. Holland and Odele Butler Holland. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and Isothermal Community College. Ruth was a longtime member of Alexander Baptist Church and attended Alexander United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed traveling, sewing, making ceramics, fishing, cooking for her family and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She loved her family dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, John E. Pye; two sons, John Thomas Pye and Terry Lee Pye; grandson, David Pye; three sisters, Lib Rash, Margaret Lockridge and Sylvia Morrow; three brothers, Nyle, Walter and Tommy Holland.
Those left to cherish her memory include son, Russell Pye (Diana) of Cliffside, three grandsons, Brandon Pye (Michelle) of Gastonia, Matthew Pye of Forest City and Brad Pye (Harley) of Forest City; two granddaughters, Christa Pye of Raleigh and Jessica Pye of Forest City; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Brittany, Lyndsey, Carson; three great-great-grandchildren, Ayden, Owen and Parker.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Alexander Cemetery with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating.
