Shirley Rider Bostic

Shirley Rider Bostic, age 83, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Hilltop Health and Rehabilitation in Rutherfordton.

Shirley was born Wednesday, July 30, 1941 in Marlinton, West Virginia to the late Dewey Rider and Idolia Daisy Rider. She worked for Cone Mill and for A & E Plastic manufacturing for many years. Shirley was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, working on puzzle books, reading and especially family gatherings. She was dedicated to taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Bobby Ray Bostic; son, Samuel William Bostic; sisters, Norma Jean Ray, Glenda Rider, Sharon Rider and brothers, Cameron, Curtis, Samuel and Rick Rider.

Those left to treasure her memory include her daughters, Patti Bostic of Marlinton, West Virginia, Angie Bostic (Johnny) of Marlinton, West Virginia, Sandy Warren (Johnny) of Cliffside and son, Robert Bostic of Cherryville, NC; siblings, Geraldine Cain, Betty Wilt, Louise Winklestein, Donna Moore, Doug Rider, Don Rider, Charles Rider, Mike Rider, Randy Rider; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Gettys officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
