Andrew Pletts, age 74, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Andrew was born Friday, September 20, 1946 in Prestwick, Scotland to the late David and Jean Pletts. He served in the Royal Air Force for twenty-two years before his retirement. Andrew also worked as an electrician for MAKO Marine Manufacturing and for Mohawk Industries for several years. He was a faithful member of Tri-City Baptist Church where he was the van driver for the RU Addictions Ministry. He was a history buff and enjoyed visiting historical sites around the country. He was also a train enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila Lewis Pletts; and stepmother, Hilary Pletts.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of nineteen years, Elizabeth Pletts; three daughters, Joanna Slate (Richard) of Barnstaple, England, Amy Porter and Susan Randolph both of Forest City; son, Jason Porter (Roxie) of Forest City; six grandchildren, Liam Slate, Isaac Randolph, Faith Porter, Haley Randolph, Raven Porter, and Kase Oliver. He is also survived by two stepbrothers, Martin and Steven Dockray both of England.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend James Hollandsworth officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
