Chad Hudgins

Chad Hudgins, age 48, of Rutherfordton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.  Chad was born Monday, March 19, 1973 in Rutherford County to the late Ray Hudgins and Louise Conner Finley. As a young man he worked for Gilkey Lumber and later for Parton Lumber. He was the owner and operator of Hudgins Lawncare. Chad attended Second Baptist Church in Rutherfordton and was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed dirt biking, hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. Chad was known for his outgoing personality and being the life of the party. He loved music and dancing and was a “people person.” Chad was a father figure and mentor to many. He was a perfectionist and a hardworking man.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Angela Rae Hudgins.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixteen years, Katie Hudgins; children, Brittany Logan (Justin) of Gilkey, Amber Hudgins (Caleb Bumgarner) of Rutherfordton, Adam Hudgins (Shana Jones) of the home and Brylee Hudgins of the home; two granddaughters, Lyliah Belle and Raylyn Hudgins; his mother, Geneva M. Hudgins of Gilkey; brother, Barry Hudgins (Lisa) of Rutherfordton; sister, Jodi Mast (Wendell) of Gilkey; special friends, Shawn High (Ali) of Rutherfordton, Will Doggett (Kenzie) of Gilkey, Kevin Cole (Kim) of Rutherfordton and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk, Reverend Keith Stephenson and Reverend Brandon Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:45 pm at the church prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice for all of the love and care for Chad during his illness.
