Cheryl Cabiness

December 3, 1961 — April 29, 2020

Cheryl Dobbins Cabiness, age 58, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Cheryl was born December 3, 1961 in Rutherford County to the late Pete Dobbins and Donna Owens Dobbins. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1981 and earned an Associates Degree from Isothermal Community College. Cheryl worked at Cone Mill-Cliffside Plant and as a CNA at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and gardening. Cheryl was a gifted artist and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mooresboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Parker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband or thirty years, Neal Cabiness; five children, Brandy Michele Hanson of Hendersonville, Tiffany Vibbert (Brian) of Forest City, Celeste Smith (Austin) of Forest City, Sarah Cook (Bryce)  of Anchorage, Alaska and Jason Cabiness (Stephanie) of Anchorage; two sisters, Wanda McCraw (Ricky) of Gaffney, Rhonda White (Rodney) of Pacolet, SC and brother, Monty Dobbins of Hickory. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Madison Morrow, Alexus Wilkins, Hayden Cook, Ashley Cook, Eligah Cook, Zoe Cabiness, Oaklynn Vibbert and Anora Smith.

A private service will be conducted to celebrate Cheryl’s life with Reverend Tim Frashier officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or to Calvary Baptist Church, 1509 Ferry Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114.
