Clara Wilson Crump

Clara Dean Wilson Crump, age 90, of Forest City, formerly of Charlotte passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

She was born on Thursday, October 1, 1931 in Ellenboro to the late Colon and Bessie Wilson. She graduated from Ellenboro High School, class of 1950 and received a secretarial degree from Kings Business College in Charlotte. Clara was an active member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Charlotte for forty-six years, where she taught 4th and 5th grade Sunday School, Bible School and was an honorary member of the Esther Sunday School class and an active member of the Sanctuary Choir and Senior Adult Choir. She worked as a secretary for Factory Mutual Insurance for forty-two years, before her retirement. Clara loved spending time with her family, her church family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed working with her flowers in the yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Alexander Crump; brother, Max Wilson; two sisters, Mallaree Wilson Greene and Madeline Wilson Hamrick and a nephew, Maxton Hamrick.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Michael Alexander Crump of Forest City, two nieces, Lynette Greene Ashe (Harold), Sherry Wilson Tyndall (Rommie); four nephews, Ray Greene (Pam), Gary Greene (Lynn), Billy Greene (Laura) and Kenny Greene (Janice); great nieces, Christy Greene, Tamara Ashe, Kayla Couch; great nephews, Ryan Greene (Amy), Adam Greene (Francesca), Nick Tyndall; great-great nieces, Aubree Klaire, Chloe Greene, Alivia Trull; three great-great nephews, Rivers Greene, Shawn Schrodier, and Josiah Couch; in-law family members who were very special to her were a niece, Sandy DeWeese and daughter, Ashley, Becky Seaford (Buddy), Joanna Poole (Bobby) and Arthur Williams; also in-law family members who were special to her and seemed like her own children were Crystal Helderman, Gloria Sutton, Becky McVickers and Kenneth Sutton.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
