Claude “Benny” Cole, age 61, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence.
Claude was born November 23, 1959 in Rutherford County to the late Claude Benson Cole, Sr. and Annie Pearl Greene Cole. He was a graduate of Chase High School and a longtime member of Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church. He faithfully served as a deacon and was active in the church Brotherhood. Among Benny’s many talents were photography, woodworking and bass fishing. Benny could do just about anything, and he used his God-given talents to be a blessing to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jermy Cole.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susie Cole; son, Richard Blake of Rutherfordton; two daughters, Stephanie Suzanne Bearden (Stephen) of Greenville, Florida and Ashley Cole of Rutherfordton; brother, Mark Cole (Tammy) of Shiloh; aunt, Nancy Childers of Rutherfordton and three grandchildren, Junior, Olivia and Zoe Bearden.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Allen Terry and Reverend Monty Monteith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
