Donnie Mcswain

Donnie T. McSwain, age 69, of Forest City, passed away, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Donnie was born August 24, 1950 in Rutherford County to the late Chivous McSwain and Mamie Petty McSwain.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam War. Donnie worked as a Dye Technician in Textiles for many years. He loved to go fishing, camping and doing yard work.  He enjoyed reading and always had a book in his hand. Donnie was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie McSwain.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Wanda McSwain; six children, Kelly McSwain of Cliffside; Chris McSwain (Crissie) and Ashley McSwain of Chesnee, SC; Donald Wise Jr. (Karen) of Mountville, SC, Lisa Miller (Charles) of Piedmont, SC and Ashley Leopard (James) of Laurens, SC; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by a sister Paula Radford (Jerry) of Forest City

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend James Leopard officiating.  Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with the Rutherford County Honor Guard providing military honors.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
