Doug A. Nantz

Doug A. Nantz, age 56, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his residence.

Doug was born Monday, November 14, 1966 in Lincolnton, NC. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed experiencing the beauty of nature. Doug was a dedicated horticulturist and also loved tending to his animals. One of his greatest achievements was hiking the entire Appalachian Trail (A.T.).

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ben and JoJo Rappe.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of twenty-two years, Dawn L. Nantz; his mother, Jeannie Hester Jackson and her husband, Tom of Stallings, NC; father, Perry Nantz of Mooresville, NC; sister, Wendi Nantz of Charlotte and a nephew, Dylan Nantz.

Doug’s ashes will be returned to rest among the trees and flowers at his homeplace.
