Frances Cobb

Frances W. Cobb, age 90, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Fair Haven Home in Forest City.

Frances was born April 5, 1930 in Cliffside, NC to the late Worth Womick, Sr. and Irma Freeman Womick. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and worked for Cone Mills-Cliffside Plant for forty-four years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.  She was previously a member of Avondale Methodist Church where she played the organ for thirty-seven years. She was a devoted Christian who loved reading her Bible on a daily basis and also enjoyed working on Crossword Puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Russell Cobb and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Janice Franzello (Joe) of Culpeper, Virginia; son, Alan Cobb (Pat) of Charlotte; brother, Grady Womick of Forest City; three grandchildren, Leslie Ann Cobb, Lori Lake (Allen), Jeff Hardy (Cindy) and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews which include a niece and caregiver, Jane Cassada of Spindale.  We thank Jane for her love and care for Frances during her later years.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Norma Roberts and Reverend Lisa Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
