Gary Paul Luckadoo, 68, passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 7th, 2021 at Asheville’s Mission Memorial hospital due to complications related to the Covid-19 virus. He was the son of the late Joyce Condrey Luckadoo and C. Paul Luckadoo who resides in Ellenboro. As a Rutherford County native, he graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1970 then joined Duke Power as a lineman and worked his way up to Operations Manager. Gary was a devout Christian, loving father, son, brother and friend. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking and spending time with family and friends. He always said his favorite job was retirement and he enjoyed every minute of it.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his late wife Pat Luckadoo, and younger brother Alan Luckadoo. In addition to his father, survivors include four daughters, Ashley L. Thomas and husband, Kenneth of Forest City, Alexandria L. Scarborough of Hickory, Courtney L. Putman and husband, Barry of Marion, and Jordan L. Thomas and husband Jason of Hickory; one brother, Danny Luckadoo and wife, Becky of Shelby. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Isabella Thomas, Adalyn Thomas, Carter Scarborough and Luca Thomas; three nephews and a niece; Timmy, Tony, Charlie and Mandy Luckadoo along with a number of other great-nieces and great-nephews.

A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel home with the Reverend Ned Owens officiating.
