Gayle May

Gayle May age 68, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at her residence.

Gayle was born November 8, 1951 in Cherokee County, to the late Charles Greene and Zula Thompson Greene.  She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1969. Gayle owned and operated Gayle’s Bookkeeping and was also a truck driver.  She loved NASCAR and Country Music. Gayle was a member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Jeaul Greene, in-laws, Edgar Ashby May and Hazel Corrine May.

Those left to cherish her memory include her dedicated husband of thirty years, Rickey May; daughter, Martina Spencer (Shawn) of Forest City; brothers, C.B. Greene (Wanda) of Cliffside and Whitey Greene (Sandra) of Forest City; grandchildren, Austin Spencer, Hunter Spencer; sister-in-law, Shirley Greene of Cliffside, brother-in-law, Mike May (Gayle) of Eads, TN, niece, Avery Gayle May and many extended family members.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Floyds Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Carnell officiating.
