Obituary

James Rigby, age 54, of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at his residence.

     James was born Friday, September 15, 1967 in Liverpool, England to the late John Henry Rigby and Joyce Ockleshaw Rigby.  As an antique trader and retailer, he was the co-owner of Penny Lane Antiques in Shelby. James enjoyed playing the guitar and writing music. He was a soccer enthusiast and an avid fan of the Everton F.C.

     Left to cherish fond memories are his wife of eighteen years, Tina Rigby; sisters, Jean Rigby and Barbara Rigby; brothers, John Rigby and Alan Rigby; stepchildren, Dr. Jessica McGarity-Ford (Brian) of Columbia, SC, Alexandria Winterburn (Brenda) of Sanford, NC and Anna Winterburn of Spindale. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Maddie Winterburn, Emery Ford and a host of nephews and nieces.

     A celebration of James’s life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Hope Point Church, 1185 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC  29303.
