Lawrence “Wayne” Strader, age 68, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his residence.

Wayne was born Thursday, February 26, 1953 in Danville, Virginia to the late Stephen Franklin Strader and Viola Edwards Strader. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for many years, a truck driver for Cone Mills and worked for Goodyear Tire Company. Wayne was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Haynes and Mary Hunnicutt; grandson, Tyler Strader and a sister-in-law, Patsy Strader.

Left to cherish fond memories are his wife of thirty-three years, Ruby Dills Biggerstaff Strader; son Larry Wayne Strader (Sharon) of Virginia; daughter, Susan Ann Strader of Ringgold, Virginia; grandchildren, Kennedy White and Addy Fessperman; two stepdaughters, Wanda Ann Sanders (Sandy) of Caroleen and Anita Lynn Stofer (Sammy) of Shingle Hollow; stepson, Billy Gerald Biggerstaff (Melissa) of Cliffside; four step-grandchildren, Brandi Holland (Josh) , Brittney McMickle (Michael), Kelly Sanders, Ryan Sanders (Wendy) and six step-great grandchildren, Hunter Fagan , Kendall Fagan, Mason McMickle, Rayelynn McMickle, Morgan Sanders and Abby Coward. He is also survived by a sister, Gaynelle Murray of Mooresboro; two brothers, Oscar Strader (Patsy) of Ringgold, VA, Michael Strader (Anne) of Roanoke, VA and a brother-in-law, Marvin Hunnicutt of Ringgold, VA.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on a date to be announced.
