Patsy Anne Turnell Folk, age 82, of Shelby, NC, passed away of natural causes, Jan 1, 2022, with her beloved husband by her side, at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

Patsy was born on January 11, 1939 in Augusta, GA.  She graduated North Augusta High School and studied Nursing at Augusta College.  She was married to her husband, Reverend Dr. Aubrey D. Folk, for more than 63 years and defined the role of Pastor’s Wife. She loved decorating, the beach, traveling, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. One of her many joys was hosting a Christmas tea party for her granddaughters, for 11 years. Patsy was a compassionate counselor, missions leader, and mentor for more than 50 years.  Patsy was co-director and house parent for the North Carolina Baptist Maternity Home in Asheville NC, for 10 years. Patsy lived and led life by God’s words from Phil. 4:6,7&19(TLB) Don’t worry about anything: instead, pray about everything: tell God your needs & don’t forget to thank HIM…

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bearden and Louise Adele Drost Turnell, son, Robert Patrick Folk, and brother, Robert Martin Turnell.

Patsy Folk is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband, Reverend Dr. Aubrey D. Folk, of Shelby, NC; son, Mark Folk and wife Sheri of Shelby; son, Chris Folk and wife Tonda of Boiling Springs, NC; daughter, Elizabeth A. Folk of Wake Forest, NC, and grandchildren, Matthew D. Blackmon (Allison) of Pittsboro, NC; Kali Folk Thomas (Ryan) of Las Vegas, NV;  Alexander T. Blackmon (Natalie) of Southport, NC;  Madison Folk Hartman (Christian) of Boiling Springs, NC; Logan A. Folk (Gary) of Boiling Springs, NC; Sydnee A. Folk (& fiancé Hunter) of Shelby; brother, William Drost Turnell (Kathy) of N. Augusta, SC., and two great-granddaughters, with two additional great-granddaughters expected later this year.

An Interactive Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Lily Memorial Baptist Church, 406 Whitener St., Shelby, NC.  The family asks that masks be worn while inside, out of respect for everyone’s health and safety.  Social Distancing Protocols will be followed.

The Family will receive visitors from 1:30pm - 2:45pm in the Fellowship Hall, with the service following at 3:00pm in the sanctuary.  *There will be limited indoor seating, with FM radio Broadcast in the parking lot. The service will also be available live online at http://tinyurl.com/patsyfolk
