Pauline Padgett

Pauline C. Padgett, age 76, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.  Pauline was born Monday, November 13, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Perry Baxter Canipe and Melva Henson Canipe. She worked in textiles for many years and was a longtime member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church. Pauline enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and especially enjoyed taking care of her animals. She loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, James Gardner Padgett; granddaughter, Jessica Padgett; siblings, Hazel Dills, Steve Canipe, Louise Canipe and Rachel Canipe.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Eddie Padgett (Joyce) of Shelby and Lee Padgett of Rutherfordton; sisters, Betty Robertson of Santee, SC, Marie Atkins of Shiloh, Faye Lowery (Jim) of Harris and Kathy Hoyle also of Harris; two brothers, Virgil Canipe of Shelby and David Canipe (Teresa) of Chesnee. She is also survived by a grandson, Brandon Padgett (Haley) and great-granddaughters, Nikolah Phillips and Kyla Phillips-Padgett.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church auditorium.
