Pervis Mason

Pervis Mason, age 76, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Pervis was born March 6, 1944 in Sanford, NC to the late Willie Edgar Mason and Omie Jane McPhail Mason. He worked as a supervisor at Fast Foods for twenty-three years and was a faithful member and served as an Elder at the Epicenter Church in Forest City. Pervis was an avid golfer, NC Tar Heel fan and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Gail Mason; three sons, Robert Mason (Rogeineth) of Fuquay Varina, NC, Walter Mason of Wake Forest, NC and Daniel Mason (Jennifer) of Rutherfordton; daughter, Kari Van Petten of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Bobby Mason, Donnie Mason and sister, Ann Robinson. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Jancey, Leland, Logan, Bryce, Kaleb, Kylee, Eden, Kimber, Lochlan, Knox, Abby, Skye and great-grandchildren, Jessa and Colt.

A celebration of Pervis’ life will be conducted on a later date and will be announced by Harrelson Funeral Home.
