Phillip "Phil" Johnson

Phillip “Phil” Johnson, age 52, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his residence.

Phil was born January 14, 1968 in Rutherford County to Phillip Douglas Johnson, Sr. and Donice Camp Johnson. He worked in the construction industry as a carpenter for many years and was of the Baptist faith. Phil enjoyed carp fishing and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan.

Beside his parents, those left to cherish his memory include a son, Ryan Moore (June) of Spindale; granddaughter, Ellie Mae Moore; brother, Greg Johnson (Susan) of Shelby; uncle, Gary “Monk” Johnson (Peggy) of Harris; aunt, Rita Helton of Cliffside; two nieces, Summer Bright and Olivia Johnson; nephew, Lucas Johnson and many beloved cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ronald Roberts officiating. The body will lie in state from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28152.
