Reba Mode

Reba Hill Mode, age 85, of Cove Road, Rutherfordton, died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Henderson Care in Forest City.

Reba was born August 4, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Gaither C. Hill and Annie Whitesides Hill. She worked for Tanner-Doncaster Industries for many years and was a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church. Reba loved flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Brittain; five brothers, Willard, Fred, Ralph, Cecil and Carl Hill; three sisters, Wilma Hall, Myrtle Jolley and Minnie Rhodes and one great-grandson, Kyle Orion Brittain.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Don Mode; stepson, Donald Todd Mode (Sissy) of Shelby, stepdaughter, Tammy Pokrajac of Sacramento, California; two grandchildren, Kyle Brittain and Gina Coggins; four great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Piney Knob Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
