Obituary

Rebecca Tate Short, age 61, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at her residence.

     Rebecca was born Tuesday, March 28, 1961 in Rutherford County to the late John Sylvan Tate, Jr. and Dora Evelyn Norville Tate. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1979.  Rebecca was a dedicated wife, mother and MawMaw. She was the office manager at Matthew’s Gym, where she greeted everyone with a smile and genuinely cared for others. Her life’s passion was being the best MawMaw she could be to her grandson.

     She is survived by her loving husband of forty years, Roger Short; her son, Matthew Short and beloved grandson, Arnold Flex Short.

     The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Harrelson Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held on a later date.
