Roberta Allen, age 59, of Henrietta, formerly of Asheville, died Monday, February 17, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Roberta was born May 29, 1960 in Buncombe County to the late Virlin Allen and Hannah Williams Anderson. She was a graduate of David Miller High School in Asheville, class of 1978. She worked in security for Wackenhut Security for many years and served as member of the RS-Traffic Unit in Rutherford County. Roberta was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirlene Hudgins; sister, Barbara Jean Allen and stepfather, James Anderson.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Amanda Jane Bell of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Emma Sherlin (Larry) of Forest City; brother, Donnie Wells (Renea) of Henrietta and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church in Spindale. The family will be gathered at 138 Walnut Drive, Henrietta, NC.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their love and compassion showed to Roberta during her illness, and would suggest memorials to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
