Wanda Cole Marsengill, age 71, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at Atrium Healthcare-Cleveland in Shelby.

Wanda was born August 15, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Addie Bostic Cole and Mary Louise Blackburn Cole. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed cooking, target shooting and shopping. Wanda was also an animal lover and enjoyed rescuing strays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Renee Campbell and a son, Junior Campbell; three brothers, Ronnie, Junior and Max Cole.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of thirty-seven years, Tony Marsengill; two loving daughters, Joan Worley of Forest City and Johnnie Martin (Robert) of Hendersonville, NC and a sister, Marjorie “Susie” Arrowood of Caroleen. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren which includes, Megan Wilhoit, Deena Edwards, Kevan Lane McDaniel, Jr., Matthew Sawyer Edwards, Amber Martin, Terry Worley III, William Bame, Jr. and three great-grandchildren, Branson Wilhoit, Berkeley Wilhoit and Annliegh Michelle Edwards.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Cliffside Cemetery with Reverend Eddie Gray officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
