Wayne Curry, age 75, of Ellenboro, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his residence.

Wayne was born November 1, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Huston Curry and Rosa Ellen Hill Curry. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1963. Wayne served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an AME Hydraulic Mechanic on the USS Enterprise, USS America, and the USS Ranger. Wayne worked for Fluid Power in Memphis, Tennessee for over twenty-five years before retirement. He was a member of the local DAV Chapter #25 and was of the Baptist faith. Wayne enjoyed reading John Grisham and James Patterson novels. He loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-three years, Janet Alan Curry and two brothers, Von and Ray Curry.

Those left to cherish his memory include three daughters, Christi Curry (Bobby Ayers) of Henrietta, Betty Jo Curry of Ellenboro and Amanda Curry of South Haven, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Samantha Marie Roddy of Ellenboro, Kayla Arndt of Toledo, Ohio, Phillip Curry of Ellenboro and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra Ledbetter, Emma Earls, Lili Anne Curry and Quentin Jacobs.

A private graveside service will be conducted at the Cliffside Cemetery with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating.
