William Whisnant

Don Whisnant, age 74, of Mooresboro, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

Don was born June 22, 1947 to the late Guy Whisnant and Jennie Sue Price Whisnant. He worked for Artee Industries for over thirty-seven years and was of the Baptist Faith. Don enjoyed fishing and playing poker, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-six years, Rachel Whisnant; two daughters, Donna Yelton (Bruce) of Rutherfordton and Sandra Ledford (Scott) of Mooresboro; brother, Tommy Whisnant (Joann) of Ellenboro; two sisters, Louise Selvey of Forest City and Mary Sue Whisnant of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kendell Cox (Robert), Robyn Harrison (Steven), Kristen Walker (Tyler), Braydon Yelton; six great-grandchildren, Seth Greene, Aniston Cox, Addison Walker, Jaxton Walker, Rylie Walker, Blake Harrison and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place on a later date.
